The David Lukins Memorial Racing Regatta is an annual event on the RPAYC racing calendar that sees current and former Youth Development Squad participants, along with other RPAYC Members, compete in a combined fleet and match racing event. This year eight teams will be competing over the weekend of 14th/15th September aboard the Club's fleet of Elliott 7 keelboats. Saturday will feature a number of fleet races, to rank competitors into Sunday's match racing stages.

The Regatta is held in memory of David Lukins, who was a tireless volunteer around the club, helping in a variety of areas, including with kids learn to sail, Centreboard Racing and Youth Development mentoring, as well as Race Management and Umpiring. This resulted in David receiving one of the clubs most prestigious annual awards, the 'Volunteer of the Year Award', for 1998-1999 season.
