We bring you the unofficial schedule and results from the Puig Women’s America’s Cup, which will be contested in Barcelona with twelve teams racing AC40 class foiling multihulls from 5th–13th October. Initially teams will be sail up to eight fleet races in two groups (AC teams and non-AC teams), with the top three from each group sailing a further four fleet races as a group. The top two teams will then sail in a single match race to determine the overall winner... see the schedule.
Scoring Note: the Women's America's Cup officially uses a high-point non-linear scoring system, skewed such that better place finishes get more points than lower placed finishes. In addition, the points awarded to a team being instructed not to race (INR) due to failure of supplied equipment are not as bad as a DNS (or even coming last). However, using the normal low-point scoring with a slight tweak for INR yields the same overall placings...
