The Cruising Yacht Club of Australia will hosts this year's Captain John Piper Match Racing Regatta over the weekend of 15th/16th July, with fifteen youth teams competing in Elliott 7m keelboats.
This event has been a fantastic stepping stone for many youth match racers. It is usually the first event in the discipline for many skippers, and since it was established in 2004, the event has been generously supported by CYCA Member Dean Harrigan.
Sadly, Dean passed away last year. This year, we will be presenting a new perpetual trophy in his memory.
The event is also part of the YSA 30th anniversary celebrations. The CYCA is very proud of the Youth Sailing Academy and we are looking forward to welcoming back past and present YSA sailors to compete, along with our fellow Clubs with well established youth training programs.
We want all competitors, officials and staff to have a fun and enjoyable weekend of racing in memory of Dean.
